YUWEI provides professional vehicle tracking, safety supervision and operation management platform solutions for school bus fleets, applicable to all types of school bus operation scenarios.

Equipped with on-board hardware devices including AI Dash Cams, MDVRs, rear-view cameras, DMS cameras, ADAS cameras, 360° panoramic cameras, sensors, audible and visual alarms, on-board displays and more, integrated with a cloud management platform, this solution delivers functions covering vehicle monitoring, safety early warning, operation management, home-school communication and data analysis. It helps school bus operators improve safety management efficiency, reduce operational risks and safeguard students’ travel safety.

School Bus Safety Management Platform Solution

Core Functions of the School Bus Safety Management Platform

The platform mainly supports the following features:

 Vehicle Positioning

 Video Surveillance

 School Bus Alarm System

 Active Safety Protection

 Scheduling Management

 Report Statistics

 Document & Data Management

 Message Push Notification

Functions for Supervision Terminals

1. Vehicle Safety Monitoring

The platform is equipped with an ADAS active safety system, which continuously monitors the surrounding safety conditions of the school bus during operation.

When risky conditions such as excessive speed, insufficient following distance and lane departure occur, the system will send timely alerts to the driver and synchronously upload alarm data to the management platform. Supervisors on the back end can conduct manual intervention when necessary to mitigate traffic accident risks.

2. Driver Behavior Monitoring

The platform enables full-process supervision of drivers’ behaviors throughout school bus trips.

Drivers must complete facial check-in before starting their shift to verify the assigned driver is operating the vehicle. During driving, the DMS camera continuously detects unsafe driving behaviors including phone calls, mobile phone viewing, smoking, prolonged forward gaze loss, fatigue driving, yawning, frequent eye closure, and releasing both hands from the steering wheel.

Once hazardous driving behavior is identified, the system triggers automatic alerts and transmits alarm information to the platform. Back-end supervisors can intervene promptly to guarantee safe school bus operation.

School Bus Alarm Management

1.Anti-Child-Left-Behind Alarm

An anti-leave inspection device is installed at the rear of each school bus. After the vehicle engine is turned off, drivers or attendants must walk to the very back of the bus and press the confirmation button to complete the full cabin inspection procedure.

If the button is not pressed, the system automatically generates an alarm prompt and uploads alarm records to the platform.

Meanwhile, living body detection devices can be mounted on cabin ceilings. If vital signs are detected inside the vehicle, the equipment sustains monitoring and triggers alarms to prevent students from being trapped inside the bus.

2.Overloading Alarm

The platform monitors real-time passenger counts to check whether the number of occupants exceeds the rated passenger capacity. An automatic alert will be activated upon overloading to remind drivers and supervisors to resolve the issue immediately.

3.Seatbelt Non-Fastening Alarm

The system triggers a seatbelt non-fastening alarm when students fail to fasten seatbelts properly after taking seats. It reminds drivers and attendants to supervise standard student riding behaviors and lower driving safety hazards.

4. Route Deviation Early Warning

Based on pre-set travel routes and on-board GPS/Beidou positioning devices, the platform tracks whether school buses travel along designated routes in real time.

The system automatically sends early warnings to the platform if:

 The vehicle deviates from the route for more than 2 minutes;

 The deviation distance exceeds 50 meters;

The bus fails to stop at designated stations.

This allows supervisors to detect abnormal driving activities in a timely manner.

5. Real-Time Inspection

Back-end supervisors can view real-time school bus locations and review vehicle operation status via live video or recorded playback.

Supervisors can check on-board situations such as students standing, horseplay or unfastened seatbelts; they may also observe whether attendants guide students in an orderly manner during boarding and alighting, and whether drivers or attendants engage in distracting conversations that affect work performance.

Additionally, the platform supports viewing drivers’ real-time driving status, road conditions, vehicle travel tracks and parking locations, enabling full-process remote supervision by administrators.

Available platform inspection tools:

 Live video streaming

 Real-time location tracking

 Historical travel track playback

Functions for Parent Terminals

1. Student Card & Facial Recognition Check-In

The system stores students’ IC card data and facial profiles. Students complete boarding identification by swiping IC cards or scanning their faces when getting on and off the bus.

The platform can identify cases where students board the wrong bus. Every card swipe or facial scan triggers automatic photo capture, with boarding/alighting station, timestamp and identification method synchronized to parents via mobile App or mini-program, allowing parents to track their children’s travel status instantly.

2. Message Push Notifications

The parent terminal supports multiple notification channels including dedicated mobile App, WeChat mini-program, SMS and email.

When the school bus approaches or arrives at a stop, the system pushes real-time vehicle location and estimated arrival time to parents, helping them arrange pick-up schedules and avoid missed transfers.

Parents will also receive instant notifications when their children board or alight, including the station name, time and verification method (card swipe or facial scan) for greater peace of mind.

3. School Bus Location Tracking

Multiple guardians can bind one student, and a single parent account can be linked to multiple children.

After binding student information, parents can view real-time school bus locations and estimated arrival times at stops on mobile devices via GPS/Beidou positioning and GIS geographic information technology, for accurate pick-up time planning.

4. Service Supervision

Parents can monitor school bus services through the mobile App or mini-program.

If parents encounter unsatisfactory service from drivers or attendants, or hold operational suggestions, they may submit complaints or feedback online. Relevant operators process feedback through the platform and send resolution results back to submitters, improving overall service quality and operational transparency.
