What is Driver Status Monitor?
"Driver Status Monitor" refers to a system that utilizes cameras installed in vehicles to capture images of the driver's seat. Through techniques such as visual tracking, target detection, and motion recognition, the system detects the driving behavior and physiological state of the driver. It issues warnings within a set time frame when the driver is fatigued, distracted, talking on the phone, smoking, or engaging in other risky behaviors to prevent accidents. The DSM system effectively regulates driver behavior, significantly reducing the likelihood of traffic accidents.
The DSM system primarily includes five basic functions: Fatigue Driving Monitoring, Smoking Monitoring, Phone Call Monitoring, Distracted Driving Monitoring, and Abnormal State Monitoring.
Fatigue Driving Monitoring
Analyzes the driver's fatigue characteristics (such as yawning, closing eyes, etc.) and issues timely warnings for fatigue driving behavior. The high-precision algorithm can operate unaffected by external conditions like time of day, lighting, or whether the driver is wearing sunglasses, consistently managing the driver's fatigue state. When the driver experiences physiological fatigue, immediate warnings are issued to awaken the driver, preventing serious accidents.
Smoking Monitoring
Precisely and timely detects smoking behavior during driving, issuing warnings to remind the driver and avoid safety accidents associated with smoking while driving.
Phone Call Monitoring
Accurately and timely detects the driver's phone call behavior during driving, issuing warnings to remind the driver and prevent safety accidents related to phone use while driving.
Distracted Driving Monitoring
Precisely and timely detects situations where the driver's gaze leaves the road (including prolonged glances without using turn signals, looking down at the phone, etc.), issuing warnings to remind the driver and prevent safety accidents caused by distracted driving.
Abnormal State Monitoring
Precisely and timely detects situations where the driver changes, leaves the normal driving position, or obstructs/damages the DSM camera. It issues warnings to remind the driver to ensure safe driving.
