Egypt's transportation and interior system is integrating traditional "yellow taxis" together with ride-hailing vehicles like Uber and Careem into a unified digital, traceable management system. According to Egypt's Ride-Hailing Act No. 2180/2019 and its subsequent amendments, commercial vehicles are required to retain trip data and support real-time positioning and camera recording capabilities. Starting in 2025, state-owned demonstration fleets in New Administrative Capital (NAC)—such as Capital Taxi and ACTA electric taxis—have been standardized with GPS + In-cabin Cameras + Electronic Payments + Control Center Monitoring. According to late 2025 data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt has 11.05 million registered motor vehicles, including 295,200 taxis (accounting for 4.9% of passenger cars). Deployment Setup: The MDVR is placed in the trunk or under the seat (IP54, aluminum shockproof shell). The front Dash Cam + ADAS run along the top of the windshield. The DSM faces the driver's face via a suction cup or A-pillar mounting. The HOD monitors the angle covering the front passenger and rear seats. The in-vehicle screen displays navigation, reverse video, and dispatch messages to the driver. All connections use BMW-to-aviation connector wiring harnesses, perfectly adapted for retrofitting common Egyptian taxis such as the Hyundai Accent, Kia Cerato, and Peugeot 301.
