Front and Rear Dashcam Installation for Trucks in Singapore
Singapore Trucks Front and Rear Dashcam Installation
Singapore Truck Market
According to the 2025 annual vehicle data released by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, as of 31 December 2025, Singapore had a total of 142,696 freight and other commercial vehicles, including 48,924 lorries, 69,625 vans, 5,020 tipper trucks and 5,608 tractors.
This large fleet of commercial vehicles undertakes daily tasks such as logistics distribution, construction transportation and urban services, which raises higher standards for vehicle safety and digital fleet management.

Why Trucks Need Front and Rear Dashcams
Strictly speaking, Singapore does not mandate universal installation of front and rear dashcams on all trucks. The current regulatory requirement applies to certain heavy and extra-heavy vehicles: they must be fitted with mirror or camera monitoring systems that eliminate vehicle blind spots. This rule particularly covers vehicles registered on or after 1 April 2015 with a maximum laden weight exceeding 12,000 kilograms.
Trucks feature long bodies that create significant visual blind spots at the front, rear and sides. Front and rear cameras assist drivers when reversing, turning or travelling at low speeds. They also record footage of traffic incidents, serving as critical evidence for liability determination, insurance claims and driver behaviour supervision.
Recommended YUWEI Truck Camera Management Solution
The YUWEI truck solution integrates front and rear dash recording, GPS/BDS positioning, 4G video transmission, ADAS, DSM, HOD and BSD blind spot detection into one unified management platform.
The system supports real-time viewing of vehicle locations and high-definition footage. It issues early warnings against hazards including lane departure, forward collision, drowsy driving, distracted driving, mobile phone usage and pedestrians in blind zones. Additional functionalities include track playback, mileage calculation, delivery task administration and incident video retrieval. The solution is compatible with logistics lorries, vans, tractors, tipper trucks and construction machinery.
YUWEI Hardware Specifications
We recommend deploying either the Fleet Dash Cam V5 or Mobile DVR F4 as the vehicle main unit, connected to a front camera, rear waterproof camera and left/right blind spot cameras.
• A 1080P ADAS front camera delivers alerts for lane departure, forward collision, following distance risks and pedestrian impact hazards.
• In-cabin DSM and HOD cameras detect dangerous behaviours such as fatigue, distraction, phone calls, unfastened seatbelts and hands off the steering wheel.
Optional add-ons for vehicles include a 360° surround-view camera system, a 10.1-inch display screen and internal/external audio-visual alarms. These allow drivers to monitor real-time footage of all vehicle sides and promptly alert pedestrians and cyclists in blind areas.
